TCF visit to Burnie
The Tasmanian Community Fund recently spent a really positive few days in Burnie. The TCF thanks the Burnie community for sharing their hopes and ambitions for their community with us at the Community Conversation.
The TCF also thanks Business Northwest and Burnie City Council for meeting with the Board and sharing their insights into their community.
Whilst in Burnie the Tasmanian Community Fund Board started work on their new strategic plan. This included stretching our thinking through to 2050 with futurist Katy Cooper. There were certainly some positives and negatives about the community of 2050 that we could envisage.
This helped set our course for developing our 2030 strategic plan and working through where the TCF could have and wants to have the greatest impact. This work will continue over the next few months and we look forward to sharing the Plan with you when it is completed.
Burnie also provided the venue for the first of four project presentation days. The days provide an opportunity for currently funded workforce engagement and improving wellbeing strategic initiatives to provide a snapshot of their progress and impact to the TCF Board and their fellow recipients.
It was an uplifting and aspirational day showcasing the breadth of work being undertaken by eight organisations and their partners, either based in the North West of Tasmania or with delivery in the North West. We thank the many organisations involved in the day for their energy, passion and commitment.
Thanks to Burnie Surf Life Saving Club for providing a great venue.
